This is a piecture of a Lumholtz’s Tree Kangaroo. It was requested by ~asynjur as a kiriban gift for reaching 300 page views. Though I've offered a few of these, she's the only one who's caught the lucky number.

Asynjur- I did the background first, but I don't think it made much difference. I hope this is okay. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find good reference pictures for these?

I'm never do anything furry again, or at least for a good long time. For one I suck at it, and for two it takes a lot of time.

Reference picture, and additional information on the species, can be found at [link]

I really think these creatures are poorly named... *giggles* excellent use of tone and shading in this piece, love, wonderful work.

Well, they are related to kangaroos, and they do spend most of their time in trees...

Thanks a lot. I even suprised myself with how accuratly I'd drawn the outline.
As I understand it Kiriban gifts as those that artists give to people who get the right number page view. For example, I'd set the kiriban at 300, and Asynjur got the 300th page view (301 actually, but since I know her and the person who got 300 didn't message me I said it was close enough). Most people list these targets in their journal, whioch means if you don't read the journal, you wont know about it. I've set a couple of these, but Asynjur is the only one to have got one and messaged me.

Yeah, she asked specifically for a Tree Kangaroo. She's an odd lady, with a thing for aussie animals. :)
yeah ...but what does " Kiriban " mean???? ...is it like a disease name .....named after the first person who gave one ever?... Is it an Aussie term ? .... is it an Aussie disease ?:giggle::confused:
It's a Japanese term, basically made to reward visitors to fan sites.
